Well we certainly did not plan for these two to breed, as we were hoping to have a litter with Ginger but for some reason she did not take to her breeding and our zealous Norton was happy to service all. This will be Trixy's final litter. With that being said we will share with you the 5 precious babies that Norton and Trixy have brought into the world.
I will never stop being amazed at the glory of Jehovah and all that he has created for our benefit. The joy that our companions bring to us is evident of Jehovah's love for us. The positive effects that they have on us and our health is tried and true. I can not imagine my life without them.
It brought me great joy to be able to touch the lives of other families by the adoption process of our first litter. Each puppy was placed with an amazing family and we keep in touch with them and share photos when they are available and are looking forward to visits from them through out the years.
Reggie aka (Abraham) will be stopping by this Friday for a brief visit and to see his half brother n sisters. I can't wait to see him!
Once we were certain that Trixy was with pups, I must say, (I was excited ) even though it was unplanned.
I am sitting here now and just hearing the newborn puppy noises is so gratifying and soothes my soul. There is something about new life itself that draws us in much like Spring where things bud and bloom, (at least that's what we are all remembering from seasons past). We look forward to it for some reason other than we are tired of the snow and cold and other unfavorable conditions that accompany winter.
We all waited eagerly as the due date drew near. Learning about the whelping process and how to keep track to be able to know when the time is here and the labor cycles begin was a tremendous help. Just a simple thing like taking your Dams temperature twice a day a week prior to delivery has been the best knowledge to have been obtained. By diligently sticking to that one application I knew just when labor was beginning and how things were progressing.
Trixy is a classic in all the signs. Thirsty, clinging to her (Human) mom, nesting and pacing up n down and right up to the pushing stage for delivery which makes it less stressfull for the owners. Shes not the best at laying and she hides the delivery which is hard when you are trying to be sure that the placenta has been delivered along with each pup. Careful attention helps in this situation.
Whelping date arrived on March 15, 2014 and we had 5 beautiful babies, each weighing over 9 oz which is great.
